Sustainability
At Jovana Djuric, sustainability means more than just materials. It’s a commitment to only making what is needed, limiting production, working with artisans, sourcing metals responsibly and designing with a focused intention to bring pieces of jewelry into the world with a purpose.
All metals are certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council, which provides the guidelines that define the criteria for the ethical, social, human rights, and environmental standards for responsible business practices throughout the jewelry supply chain. All metals used within the collection, including sterling silver and gold are certified as being from 100% Recycled Sources.
All the stones we set are earth-mined and conflict free. Each diamond is meticulously selected to ensure it meets the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. The beauty of earth-mined natural diamonds lies in their unique formation over billions of years, resulting in unparalleled brilliance and a timeless allure, courtesy of Mother Nature.
Jewelry is made to order with an intention to make only what’s necessary.
Each one is cast and made by hand by NYC artisans who are paid NYC labor wages.
Jovana is also mindful in her design process and always asks herself “Does the world really need another earring? And what is really my point?” This helps her to streamline the designs and keep herself in check at the very beginning of the process.
